1. Would Daphne’s Retreats suit me?
We get asked this a lot. The answer is “yes”, if you are a man or a woman who wants to make a change that will help you live a more healthy life – such as lose weight and become more active – or if you are looking for an absolute escape that’s designed to nurture, refresh and strengthen your mind, body and soul. If you are looking to lose a lot of weight very fast, then this is probably not the best retreat for you.
2. How many other people will there be on the retreat?
There can be between 6 and 12 people on any retreat.
3. Will I have to share a room?
No. You only share a room if you come with someone and want to share a room. All our rooms are doubles with their own bathrooms.
4. I’m allergic or intolerant to certain foods – can you cater for me?
Yes, absolutely. Meals on our Daphne’s 7-Day Jump Start contain no dairy, gluten or refined sugar anyway, so our chef is experienced in using alternative ingredients. If you have any other dietary requirements, please tell us and we will cater for you.
5. I don’t like massage/acupuncture/yoga/exercise/meditating – can I still come?
The whole point of our retreats is to start losing weight by making changes that support this. Exercise and meditation to support changes in habit and wellbeing are important elements of this. However, if you would prefer not to have massage or acupuncture, or there is a medical reason that you can’t, that is absolutely fine. You can choose not to include any treatments, or we can try and substitute it for a therapy you feel more comfortable with. You can discuss this with me when you book.
6. How much will my diet be restricted?
The delicious meals on our Daphne’s 7-Day Jump Start contain no dairy, gluten or refined sugar. We don’t believe that going hungry helps any one lose weight and keep it off. Rather, our approach to weight loss is based on giving the body the right combination of foods so that you are energised and healthy.
7. What style of yoga do you teach?
We teach and practise different styles of yoga, including ashtanga, vinyasa, kundalini, restorative and yin yoga. The exact style depends on your level and experience, as well as who the instructor is for your retreat. It is always an energising, awakening , revitalising practise in the morning, and a calm, meditative, restorative style yoga if the session is in the evening.
8. I am recovering from an injury or operation – can you accommodate me?
Yes, we can usually adapt our exercise and yoga sessions to make them suitable. All of our trainers are experienced and qualified professionals, and we will assess what you need. Please be sure to tell us about any injury or chronic condition, such as knee pain, when you enquire about booking and we can confirm whether we our retreats will be suitable.

Our retreat activities start at 7:30. If you want to make the most of your retreat then we would recommend that you join us then. We do ask that all of our guests retire to their rooms by 9 in the evening so that you have the opportunity to enjoy 10 hours’ sleep. To remove the temptation of distraction and screen time, we also recommend that you leave all of your electronic devices with us in the evenings. We will lock them away securely. Practising these habits while you are with us will have you to reset your sleep patterns.
12. Do I have to stay for the whole week?
Yes, if you book Daphne’s 7-Day Jump Start you need to book for the full seven days. Alternatively, if you are looking for something shorter, consider our 4-Day Detox Retreat or organising a bespoke retreat.
13. Do you have woman only or men only retreats?
No, we don’t. All of our retreats are open to both women and men.
